Ontario Hiking Information

Ontario is home to one of the most diverse and challenging wilderness environments in the world.  With hundreds of thousands of miles of trails at our doorstep, we're a hikers paradise!  Whether you live in an urban city, or a northern community, there's always a trail nearby.  Hiking is such a unique activity.  It offers people choices not usually afforded by other outdoor adventure sports and activities.  For those looking for a group activity, hiking is the perfect escape.  Be it for a few hours break from the office with co-workers, or an organized journey through the wilds of the Boreal forest with family & friends, Ontario is the place to get started.  Whether a beginner or seasoned expert, Ontario's topography and trail systems offers options for every skill level.  Day trip or week long excursion, we've got you covered!.  With a such a small investment needed to get you started ( usually just a pair of boots ), what are you waiting for?

While we all understand the therapeutic benefits of getting out in nature, Hiking also provides a great way to get your heart pumping!  It provides a tremendous Cardiovascular workout, while working many muscle groups as well.  For those looking for a day trip, it's hard to beat Southern Ontario's Bruce Trail.  A large, well traveled trail that weaves it's way through mixed hardwoods as it follows the legendary Niagara Escarpment.

If you're looking for more of a challenge, head north to tackle any of Northern Ontario's thousands of wilderness trails.  Surround yourself in pristine, unspoiled settings usually reserved for those only  with float planes.  Wake up in the morning to the haunting call of the Loon, while you watch Moose feeding in nearby lakes.  Take a trip to one of our famous Provincial Parks.  Names like Killarney, Algonquin and Lake Superior are surrounded by mystery and adventure.  Come see why for yourself.  How about a trek through Temagami's old-growth forest.  One of the last remaining in the world!  We've got it all right here in Ontario!  So many options, so much land, so much to see.  A Hikers paradise.  When planning your next Hike or outdoor adventure, give Ontario a try.  Come see why everyone keeps coming back again and again!
